Brooke and Ryan - August 16th, 2016
Las Vegas, NV
When the weather insists on maintaining absolutely ludicrous levels of heat and humidity all summer, trying to shoot family portraits outdoors is downright cruel. Luckily the Kneisers and myself were in full agreement on three of my favorite things, shooting in air conditioning, shooting everything on black and white film, and focussing on a series of images emphasizing quality not quantity. So we rented a small studio space in Nashville for a couple hours and created some of my all time favorite family portraits together.
Photographed in studio with a Hasselblad 500CM + 60mm and 80mm, Leica M6 + 50mm LTM, and Nikon F3 + 35mm F2 and 50mm F1.2 on Kodak Tri-X film.
Friends, photographers, partners, they don't come better than Brad and Jen. These two were some of the first people we met when we up and moved across the country to Nashville and they've been a constant source of inspiration and support to us. Honored to call them friends and so humbled to have been invited into their home to document their relationship on film.
Photographed on location in Nashville, TN with a Hasselblad 500CM+60mm/80mm, Minolta Autocord, Nikon F3+50mm, Leica M6+35mm/50mm on Tri-X film.
