As we head into the thick of winter, the days of sweaty bike rides, shorts, bugs, slip and slides, crawfish boils, and summer showers already seem like a distant memory. May was a busy month for us with work, but we managed to pack in quite a bit of activities together.
^ "Dad, I trapped a bug in this film canister"
^ Suns out, bums (and bikes) out.
^ Where every single picture on this blog starts to take shape...rolling film onto reels in a dark bag in preparation for development.
^ Cheekwood Gardens
^ "Why ya hittin yoself, why ya hittin yoself?"
^ Collecting gross bugs.
^ Homeschooling on the back patio.
^ Aaaaaaaaaanother boring trip to a coffee shop with mom and dad.
^ Jaclyn and Morgan, friends since 1995. In a lucky coincidence, Morgan and her lady Nina came to our dear city for a vist while we happened to actually be in town.
^ Mother's day lunch and portraits.
^ Outdoor dining at our new friends the Ensor's home. Jasper meets their dog Don, Don is unsure of their encounter.
^ Our first time in our entire life seeing fireflies.
^ Our first crawfish boil, down on a friend's farm in Franklin, TN. Being vegetarians, the food selection was missing a main ingredient for us, but the entire experience was a total and complete (in the best possible way) culture shock for us born and raised Californians.
^ The Bennetts, the best.
^ Early morning drive through our local backroads to find animal friends.
^ Summer rains.
^ Mornings with Jasper.
^ Somehow Jasper learned to ride his bike without incident, but after a few weeks of riding perfectly finally had his first crash...by running into a mailbox while not paying attention.
^ Summer showers in Tennessee are serious business.
