We had a two day wedding in Chicago and a dear friend kindly offered up their place in the city for us to stay in, so we made a week long family trip of it. We'd been to Chicago before, but this was the loinfruits first time, and Jasper's first time being in a truly big city. We've got a few more trips back this year and can't wait...definitely one of our favorite US cities.
^ Waiting for an Uber.
^ Jasper found a lighter...and proceeded to try to burn anything he could get his hands on.
^ Morning laughs with my love.
^ Rainy drives to the Art Institute Museum.
^ Jasper in front of a Jasper Johns original. Back when I studied art many years ago, Jasper Johns was a favorite of mine, and beyond his work, I loved his name and always wanted to name my first born son Jasper.
^ Too much nonstop kid time...
^ The best part about being out and about on a rainy weekday is you have normally super overcrowded areas like Millennium Park pretty much all to yourself :)
^ This lady was all positioned up for a photo of the other face tower in the Crown Fountain...but apparently didn't realize that every few minutes they shot water out of their mouths. Having been there some time before her, I was aware of this and ready for the shot when she got surprised from behind :)
^ Powered by Intelligentsia.
^ Ballet dancers practicing in the windows.
^ Our first deep dish pie.
^ Our last night in town was spent on the shores of Lake Michigan. Pure magic.
